27th May 2003 Windsurfing: Leucate (lagoon) Wind Direction: Tramontane (NW) Wind Stength: 7 decreasing Surf / Sea State: Flat/sm swell Air Temperature: 20 Sea Temperature: 17 Weather: Sun/Pt Cloud Max Speed: Distance Covered: Took out the sexy new wave board in the morning & really enjoyed it, very pleased with it. Kept getting overtaken & buzzed by stupid 50-somethings on slalom boards, but didn't care, I need to get these gybes dialled. Had a really good morning. After lunch, the wind dropped a bit so took out the faithful Axxis on a 5.4. Nicknamed the Axxis 'The Rocket' and became a speed junkie. ALMOST made a gybe on it... and slipped off! ARGH! Spent a good 2 hours in blasting heaven before my back could take no more. Spent the evening chilling out on the beach with the fellow german campers watching a great french kitesurfer putting on a brilliant aeronautical show... what a perfect day! |
